The Mabon aromatherapy balm has been created to honour the wiccan and pagan festival of Mabon. Mabon is the second of the three harvests and is also known as the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are divided
equally.
Mabon is a time for Balance, harmony and release.
I have chosen three essential oils to represent Mabon but also to help bring a sense of calm and balance as we embrace the magic of Mabon.
Use your balm when you need a little moment for you by breathing in the scent of autumn.
Benzoin oil has a beautiful chocolate-vanilla aroma, it is a grounding and ritual oil, which has a calming effect on the nervous system. It brings comfort and is a wonderful oil to use as we prepare for the darker months.
Cinnamon Leaf with its warming and spicy aroma is perfect for Mabon as we start to think about apple pies and pumpkin spice lattes. Cinnamon essential oil is perfect for when we need a little help to pick ourselves up. Just a hint of cinnamon for this comforting balm.
Sweet Orange is perhaps not technically associated with Mabon, but when I think of this fabulous festival, I think of breathtaking sunrises, autumn leaves fluttering and golden hues as the sun beings to set.
Orange is the colour of autumn and Sweet Orange with its gentle happy and uplifting aroma is ideal for this blend.
Sunflower Seed Oil also had to make an appearance because it is suitable for all skin types, it is full of vitamins A, D and E and essential fatty acids. Also, it’s the perfect flower to celebrate Mabon.

Mabon Aromatherapy Balm
One of my core values for Sage and Bellflower is to promote positive mental health. The oils I have used in the Mabon Balm are to help in moments of sadness, overwhelm and when you need to find balance.
